BOSS Safety Factor - better than ever!
Do your Soldiers expect safety days to be fun? Have they ever looked forward to the typical, "don’t drink and drive" or "don't drive fast"safety presentations of days past? Chances are, the answer to both these questions is no — and that’s why the U.S. Army Combat Readiness/Safety Center and Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation have teamed up to give you the BOSS Safety Factor, a ready-to-use tool that’s anything but your boring safety presentation.
From the beginning of fiscal 2010 through the end of fiscal 2011, our Army lost 264 Soldiers to off-duty accidents. During the same timeframe, nearly 1,800 more Soldiers were injured or suffered negative results from engaging in careless or high-risk behavior in their off-duty time. The BOSS Safety Factor is designed to build hazard awareness and encourage Soldiers to think safety off duty, but not without a little fun. During the four-part safety presentation, your Soldiers will be laughing out loud as some of today’s top comedians take a humorous look at the hazards of Army life while sending a safety message sure to get through to even the toughest audience.
In addition to the presentation, the BOSS Safety Factor kit provides posters and pamphlets for your safety board that highlight our Army’s most common personality types.
As always, your feedback is important; let us know what you think so we can make the kit even better in years to come. Thank you for what you do every day, and remember to think safety always!
Army Safe is Army Strong!
